Well i downgraded to 04-July-2008 | v.2.00.7 Release Candidate 2 | driver v.2.11 and no freezing or crashes so there must be something wrong on new version.

Thank you for writing detailed configuration of your system. We could replicate the same behaviour and found out where source of the problem is. BCVE v.2.10.00 now contains driver v.2.13 with the fix and updated installation program is available on Jetico Web-site: http://www.jetico.com/bcve_setup.exe .

After upgrading to:
22-July-2008 | v.2.10.00 | driver v.2.12
    BestCrypt Volume Encryption version 2 commercial release. Performance of the software significantly increased on miltiprocessor and multicore computers.

I had alot of stabily problems, got once bluescreen about bcfntfs.sys, once its freezed when i runned benchmark and on usage i have alot windows freezing and programs stop working after upgrading this versio. Is there anyway download older version?

Speeds are alot better with this but some reason vista freezing now often and programs stop working, only reboot will help.
To get this happen no even need extract or do any resource taking operations, happens on idle also.

thanks, adding that 2.) fixed the problem. Very weird that installer dont do the registry part. One possible reason could be vmware and its install somekind vmbkey.

Two keys in Registry should be set:

1)

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\mhk]
"ErrorControl"=dword:00000001
"Type"=dword:00000001
"Start"=dword:00000003
"DisplayName"="Mhk"

2) Key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}]

probably has multi-string value "UpperFilters" set to "kbdclass". To get
mhk.sys driver loaded it should set to "kbdclass mhk". If you have virtual
machine with mhk.sys driver loaded correctly, it is worth to take a look at the
key too.

I installed vista x64 sp1 to vmware and installed latest bcve v2 rc2, alarm crash hotkey worked on it, i took mhk.sys from it and exported registry entries what you told and imported them to this. Still getting error setting alarm hotkey.

Code: [Select]
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\mhk]
"Type"=dword:00000001
"ErrorControl"=dword:00000001
"Start"=dword:00000003
"Ach"=dword:00110002

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\mhk\Enum]
"0"="ACPI\\PNP0303\\4&205ad762&0"
"Count"=dword:00000001
"NextInstance"=dword:00000001

I edited to "0"= my keyboard device path id ACPI\PNP0303\4&2E2B2FDC&0, what i should put to Ach it seems to be diffrent on every installation?

That file can be found from C:\Windows\System32\mhk.sys but not from registry.

At the moment BCVE uses 4 MBytes buffer/file for testing the
performance. We will think on adding the option to enter other
sizes for the tests.

The "Error in setting Alarm Crash Hotkey" message may arise
if BCVE cannot communicate with its low-level driver mhk.sys ,
for example, because of some problem occured during installation
of the software.

Could you please run standard Windows regedit.exe program from
C:\WINDOWS folder and check that the following key exists in the Registry database:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\mhk

Then, please check that file mhk.sys exists in system C:\Windows\System32\drivers folder.

The problem of setting Alarm Crash Hotkey was reported to us once only.
For some reason re-installation of BCVE did not help, and unfortunately
we could not finally found out what prevented BCVE Setup from installation
its MHK module. The problem was solved by manual installation of the module.

If in your case re-installation of BCVE does not help, please write to
Jetico technical support ( mailto:support@jetico.com ) for further work on
the case.

Hi All

Im using now Jetico Bestcrypt Volume Encryption 2.00.06 RC2 and my os is Vista x64.
I have noticed problem with Setting Alarm Crash hotkey  if i try set it to Alt + Ctrl + C or any other it will
just say Error in setting Alarm Crash Hotkey. I think its most likely caused becouse i use vista 64 bit edition.
This bug was existed since the feature also with 1.x.

Benchmarking was very nice feature also but it would be nice if you could select size what it will use for testing so i could see results for bigger files.

Yes, at least until the next update.

I would like to see the automatic change back, too, but since I use english keyboard by default anyway, it's no big deal for me.

2. Switch keyboard to Czech

I understand now what you mean by "Switch keyboard".
You mean switch "manualy" with the icon of language under the windows task bar ?

If it is that, YES I'am able to switch the language too !!

bcve make an auto switch to english, and after closing the change master password windows, it remain in english keyboard.
But yes at this point I can switch manually the language and select French keyboard from the windows task bar.

But I thought that this operation (return to the previous language when closing the password windows) was automatic. So if I understand correctly I'll have to do this manualy ?

Although we tried to reproduce the problem, at the moment we cannot
catch the effect when BCVE would not allow the user to switch back
from English language. We would rather agree with Pepak who wrote:

Quote from: "pepak"
My guess is that Nova's problem is neither the switch to english keyboard nor switching back to his language, but the fact that the switch back doesn't occur automatically.

On my system it works exactly as you described (Czech-English).

My guess is that Nova's problem is neither the switch to english keyboard nor switching back to his language, but the fact that the switch back doesn't occur automatically. E.g., the sequence:

1. Run BCVE
2. Switch keyboard to Czech
3. Mount volume
4. Keyboard switches to English automatically
5. Enter password, mount volume
6. Create Rescue ISO
7. Keyboard is still switched to English and if I want Czech, I have to do that manually

In my opinion, there should be an extra step:

5a. Switch keyboard back to the state it was before 4.
