You are right. If you want to send anyone the archive encrypted with his/her public key, you should do these 3 steps.
If someone has the secret key of the recipient and knows the password, he can encrypt the archive encrypted with the
corresponding public key.
There is no the option in BCArchive for limiting usage of secret key to only one PC, because it is not advisable to use such option. For example, if you want to open the archive encrypted with your public key in other PC, it will become impossible to do so even if you have the corresponding secret key and know the password.

Secret key on one PC ?
« Reply #1 on: July 28, 2008, 08:47:46 PM »
Hello,
I'm testing your program and it works fine, but i have some questions if someone is willing to answer.
Correct me if i'm wrong:
1. Someone send me his public key
2. I use this key for encryption
3. Return the archive to him and he decrypts it with his Secret Key.

But what if he gives his Secret Key to someone else, he can decrypt too?
Is there some option so i can limit usage of Secret Key to only one PC?
I mean what's the point: public - secret ?

Thank you in advance.
