Quote from: "PeterPaul"
:idea: If some items, like event names, do not show up in German after activating the translated files, try to shutdown JPF2 (menu: File/Datei > shutdown/abschalten). Then restart JPF2 from the Start Menu after a few seconds.

Event names are translated in JPF server jpfsrv.exe. So you should wait for jpfsrv.exe termination to reload langfile.txt

Nive work!
After having a quick look, two 'little' corrections.

Line 117: "Save &As..."="Speichern &als..."
Line 133: "&Auto Best fit"="&Autom. skalieren"

German Translation - Deutsche ĆƒÅ“bersetzung

Current  translation version for JPF 2.0.0.30 (April 28, 2007)
I'll keep this post updated, so that you can always download the most recent version here.
You'll need to login/register, before you can download any attachments from this forum.

__________________________________________________________
Release notes:
- Newly translated Setup Program and lots of newly extracted phrases
- it is basically complete for the GUI & Setup/Wizard except for some license related items
- new instructions; its easier now  8) (below and in the zip package)

Here are some screen shots of JPF2 in German:

HOW TO switch Jetico Personal Firewall 2.0.0.30 to German language:
====================================================
* Notes before you begin:
- this How-To should work on all JPF supported Windows versions (tested on XP and Vista)

* Step-by-Step:
- Shutdown JPF2, if it is running
- Save 'GermanJPF2.0.0.30.zip' and unzip the files to a folder on your Desktop
- Start the installer jpf2setup.exe (do not click 'Next', yet)
- Find the folder ~BCSelfExt.TMP in your Temp directory
    (on Vista C:\Users\YourLoginName\AppData\Local\Temp
     on XP, I think C:\Documents and Settings\YourLoginName\Local Settings\Temp)
- copy the ~BCSelfExt.TMP folder to your desktop
- exit the installer (Cancel > Abort? Yes)
- copy langfile-de.txt from your extracted GermanJPF2.0.0.30.zip to the SetupLangs folder in ~BCSelfExt.TMP

- start setup.exe from inside ~BCSelfExt.TMP
- choose German on the first screen and continue mostly in German

How to change JPF2 back to your original English text:
- run the installer again and choose English

please test & proof-read and post suggestions for improvements of the translation in this Thread
