Hello Cyberpunk,

my apologises for the confusion about the BCArchive license type in this Support & Help forum, i agree that the change of freeware into shareware wasn't described in a correct/clear way.

For reason of the incorrect BCArchive forum description i have changed it accordingly to the current shareware status, at the same time i made a remark about the issue here: viewtopic.php?f=73&t=4464

Regards,

Smokey

ok, it's good to know, thanks
it would be even better if it were a bit more clear on the site, because it isn't clear at all that the license type has changed

as for the wrong informations on other sites, this is one of the examples:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/E ... hive.shtml

in the description it's reported the version 1.0.8.8 (wich WAS freeware as you told me) but the download link point to the latest version (wich is not) ...

There's an ETA for the release of BCTextEncoder? I would like to check on it before ordering BCArchive ... just to see if it suit my needs

Unfortunately, I have to inform you that BCArchive has become a shareware program since version 2.01.
Jetico provides the following freeware programs - BCTraveller and JPF v1.
Besides, new freeware program has been almost completed - BCTextEncoder which will encrypt text messages
with password or public key.
If you notice "freeware" status of BCArchive anywhere, please let us know.
You may order the license here:

License type confusion
« Reply #1 on: September 12, 2008, 10:08:46 AM »
I've a question about the license type of bcarchive 2.01

Everywhere i read about the software (wich i use since version 1.65 and i must say that is great), even here in the official forum, is stated that it's freeware like previous version.
In spite of that, when i install the program it says that it's a demo and that i will have only 8 days to test all the features of the commercial version.

Nevertheless, installing the last version of BestCrypt and checking the license of the version of bcarchive included, it says that's a freeware application.

NOW i'm a bit confused.

To sum up things, under wich kind of license is distributed bcarchive 2.01? Freeware? Trialware? Shareware? Whateverware?

ps: by the way, it's not a question of money. I could even consider to buy it considering the great benefit it has given to me. It's just to clear up things, cheers
