Hello,

I want to use bestcrypt for my usb stick, so I thought I could use bctraveller to create a container
and leave the bctraveller executable on the stick. However when I tried to mount the container from
my linux boot I got an error "Unknown algorithm Id: 0".

I saw that bctraveller uses Rijndael (AES) algorithm and the bc_rijn module is loaded in my linux so
I expected everything to work fine though it doesn't. Do I miss something here ? Is there a way to
use bctraveller and bestcrypt for linux to mount the same container?

thanks in advance
papasj

Hi, papasj.

The problem here is not with the data encryption algorithm, but with the key generator, which happens to be used before any encryption modules come into play. bctraveller uses a keygen algo version not currently supported by linux bcrypt. You can fix the problem by creating aforementioned container with bcrypt for linux, storing the container file on your usb stick drive and it should mount on linux without any problems.
