Hi chermesh

Quote
I'm running Kaspersky Internet Security 2009, whick identified no virus.
I ran malware cleanups using MalWareByres' Anti-Malware and Combofix.

After running these scans, i'd say there's little chance of it being malware.
One of these programs would have picked up something.
I was going to suggest that you post your question over at the 'Outlook forums' .... but i see that you have already done this.
They are the guys to help you out with this.
Let us know how you get on.

Thanks

MS Outlook 2007 fails to establish connection
« Reply #1 on: March 29, 2009, 11:38:51 AM »
Hi,
I wonder if my problem stems from a malware source. I checked it with various MS Outlook related sources and none manage to suggest a useful solution.
Whenever I start my Hebrew version MS Outlook 2007 (on a WinXP Pro (SP3) platform), the program fails to establish a connection with my mail-server. The address of my mailserver hasn't changed and an identical configuration works flawlessly on Outlook Express.
I'm running Kaspersky Internet Security 2009, whick identified no virus.
I ran an indepth registry cleanup using Regcure and Advanced Uninstaller Pro.
I ran malware cleanups using MalWareByres' Anti-Malware and Combofix.
After all these steps, the problem stayed unsolved. The following application event report keeps showing up:

"Faulting application outlook.exe, version 12.0.6316.5000, stamp 4833a470, faulting module mswsock.dll, version 5.1.2600.5625, stamp 485bed11, debug? 0, fault address 0x00001d52."
