Malware removal forum guidelines

Welcome to Smokey's Security Forums!

Please read these guidelines before posting to this board.

Only members from the Malware Hunters Team or a member of the Trusted Advisor OTL Team - Malware Expert group are allowed to post help to topics!
Malware Hunters is a group of people that are specialized in malware removal and can give clear and accurate advice.
Trusted Advisor OTL Team - Malware Expert is a special group of experts that have considerable experience in this field.

Posting a fix or a question by a member that does not belong to this group will NOT BE TOLERATED and the poster risks being removed and banned from this forum. Smokey's Security Forums will not be held liable if a member seeking help has followed misleading information.

  • When posting for malware removal help, please try to give a detailed description of your problem. If you know the infection name for example "Adaware.VirtuMonde" please add it in the Subject field.
  • If you are a Professional Computer Technician seeking help, or second opinion, please state in your initial post!
  • Please do not send private messages asking for help. All request for help in private messages will be ignored. The forums are there for a reason!
  • Please do not bump your post! Helpers are searching for topics with zero replies, bumping your post may cause your topic to be overlooked.
  • Once a helper has replied to your topic, follow their instructions step by step, if there is step you don't understand, do not hesitate to ask your helper before proceeding with accomplishing instructions.
  • This forum does not and will not support any pirated and illegal software. If found on your computer, you will be kindly asked to remove it before help can continue.
