The best advice I can give:
Do not just click on ok button with the popups, but read the popup and think what it means and how do you want to really handle such events similar to the one triggering the popup.
The offered rule is almost always too restrictive. E.g. when a browser goes to web site, tho popup creates a rule for the browser for port 80 and the address of the web server you are connecting to. If you just click on ok, once you access different web server, there is a new popup for the browser.
Use predefiled templates instead. In the popup, select "Use template:" option and select the template best describing your application.
If there is no matching template, create it. If the rules are too simple for a template, create custom rule using "Use custom rule:" option in the popup and create a rule generic enough, but still safe.
Hope this helps...
