Hi, the problem was that we had restricted access to USB drives for that user. I enabled USB access and problem solved!

Thanks for your help!

Hello mmcisaac,

BestCrypt utilizes Windows built-in format dialog, which means BestCrypt itself doesn't interfere with the format procedure and does not require any additional permissions. Are you able to perform format on regular volumes, say USB?

BestCrypt virtual drives (mounted containers) inherit user permissions from their nest folder. Try creating a container in a different folder. It's generally nor recommended to create containers in the root directory of a volume, e.g. C:\ or E:\ because system usually protects those.

Sincerely,
Jetico Technical Support team

Rights and Privileges Error When Formating New Container
« Reply #1 on: November 21, 2017, 09:44:57 PM »
When I try to create a new container using BestCrypt 9 on Windows 10 it seems to work and mounts the container as a mapped drive but asks me if I want to format. When I try to format I get the error "You do not have sufficient rights to perform this operation." I have full workstation and network admin privileges and other users on my computer do not see this error. If another user formats the mounted drive and then I try to use it I get the error "Access is denied." I have tried deleting my local profile and installing on another computer but I still cannot format and use the container.

What rights to I need to be able to format and use the newly created container?

Thank you!
