Avast is the best option you can choose. I have been using Avast Antivirus for 4 years and have no issues what so ever.
Features I always look for in Antivirus software:
1)Boot time scan
2)Monitor Live virus and antispyware.
3) Automatic Updates
4) Anti-rootkit
Avast has all the above features. Also, it fully support 64-bit windows environment.
