After taking a closer look (while making requested screenshot's) i see my definition Disk 0 Partition 1 is Active/System and Disk 1 (C ) is Boot is from Windows Disk Management. BCVE says incorrectly C: System and Boot.

E-Mail with both screenshot's sent.

We have created dual-boot configuration with Windows 7 x64 on Disk 0
and Windows 7 x32 on Disk 1. Both systems has BestCrypt Volume
Encryption (BCVE) v.2.14.02 installed.

When we boot Windows 7 x32, BCVE shows volume (C:) on Disk 0
as "System" (i.e. it is the disk volume where boot code is), and
volume E: on Disk 1 as "Boot" (volume where Windows files are
stored).

In our experiment if we encrypt E: on Disk 1, BCVE correctly puts
its boot code to MBR sector on Disk 0. After that we can boot
both x64 and x32 Windows. So everything appears to work correctly.

You are right, in your case BCVE should put its boot code to MBR
sector on Disk 0, not Disk 1.

We would try to investigate the case, so could you please send
the following information to Jetico technical support
(support@jetico.com):

a). screenshot of BCVE program;
b). screenshot of Windows Disk Management window.

To get the Disk Management window please point on
"My Computer" icon, press right mouse button and
run command "Manage" from appeared pop-up menu. You
will get "Computer Management" program running.
Then please select "Disk Management" in left pane
of the "Computer Management" program.

To create screenshot picture of some program, run the program
and press 'Alt+Print Screen' keys to get its screenshot into
Windows internal buffer. Then run standard Windows Paint program
'Start ->Accessories -> Paint'. Press 'Cntrl + V' keys to put the
picture to Paint window. Then you can save the picture to some file.

We hope that difference in the information shown by BCVE and Disk
Management windows will give us a hint why BCVE decided to modify
MBR on incorrect disk in your configuration.

Windows 7 dualboot on 2 Harddrives
« Reply #1 on: January 26, 2010, 09:25:46 PM »
Tried to use BCVE on the following Test configuration:
Windows 7 dualboot on 2 Harddrives

Disk 0 - 100MB System-reserved (Mount-Point:/ ) (Active/SYSTEM)
         - 79.9GB Windows7 64bit (D )

Disk 1 - 80 GB Windows7 32bit (C ) (BOOT)

Started 32bit Version (so Drive-letters like above) installed BCVE and Encypt it's drive C.

Unfortunatly BCVE installed the bootloader to Hard Disk 1 !
has to be at Hard Disk 0 ?
Now the Windows Bootmanager appears and cannot start the Windows on drive 1 because mount at boottime don't work - it's still encrypted.

If i change the BIOS boot order to boot directly from Drive 1 the BCVE boot prompt appears and after entering the pass it continues with trying boot from LAN.

-
p.s.: hopefully i have correctly used the, little bit confusing, terms System and Boot? C:\Windows (32bit) is at Disk 1, the windows 7 bootfiles are at Disk 0 (inside the System-reserved partition).
