There are common Windows temp folder (C:\Windows\Temp)
and user-specific temp folders (C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp.

BCWipe wipes the second folder and new folder is always created by Windows.
BCWipe may sometimes wipe Windows\Temp, if it is so then please confirm this exactly
(it was possible with a beta-version of the software, so please report what version of BCWipe you are running).

But even if Windows\Temp was wiped, Windows must create a new one when the need arises.
I have no idea how it can be related to accessing the web.

Hi again,

thanks, that's what I thought, but not in this case for some reason..........

After rebooting I checked the windows directory but 'no temp directory' shown, which in turn stops me from accessing the web. If I manually add /temp directory, I can surf the web with no problems.

more to follow if necessary......

Yes, BCWipe deletes the whole temp folder and Windows will create the new one at startup.

Could you clarify what you mean by this:
the windows 'temp' file seems to be deleted and not the file(s)

Hi All,

When I use bcwipe at startup to wipe the special folders, the windows 'temp' file seems to be deleted and not the file(s) is this correct? and if correct should windows make 'new temp' file at startup?

All boxs are ticked in properties except 'favorites'

more to follow depending on reply .....

thanks.
